For over 25 years, Gerry’s practice has focused on insurance-related litigation, including personal injury, accident benefits, priority/loss transfer, disability, property/casualty, product liability, coverage and subrogation disputes. He has experience at all levels of court in Ontario and at the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also appeared before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario with respect to accident benefits matters and private arbitral tribunals with respect to inter-company disputes.
Gerry is also a trained mediator and arbitrator. He obtained his mediator training from C.D.R. Associates in Boulder, Colorado (the originator of modern-day mediation training in North America) and his arbitrator training from the Arbitration + Mediation Institute of Ontario. Since 2002, Gerry has regularly been retained as a mediator and arbitrator to facilitate the resolution of insurance-related disputes.
Gerry received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history and law from Carleton University and is a graduate of the University of Ottawa Law School. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1986.
